Openhouse on the 20th June 2009

Mommy...it's OVER!!! After weeks or even months of preparation, it's finally over and done with. Went to the centre at 7am to do some last minute decorating, and just as soon as the clock strikes 1pm, everything (most of the things) was taken down. A truly eventful day which I really enjoyed, especially when I was decorating the class. Many, many thanks to my lovely darlings. Without them I would not have had many beautiful art pieces to display. Feel so proud of them!!

The table toys area

My maths area.

My library area

My block area

My other displays around the room and on the floor. Still got some other displays not photographed.

Really adore the display on transportation over at Bay one.

Day 3: Osaka- Nara- Kyoto- Nagoya

Fed the deers at the Nara deer park...one of the deer took a bite out of my scarf and halter top. And I was scolding the deers like I'm scolding my little ones. "No! NO! WAIT!" Lol...

Went to the Todaiji Temple with big Buddha statues. There's this one which is believed that if, for example: if you have back ache, you touch the back of the statue and then your back, the backache will then be gone. I tried to touch lor...but stupid lah...the back of the statue was too high and blocked by the wall!

There's also a hole at the pillar that if one is able to crawl through will have succession in the things they do.

We then went to the Kimono fashion show...I only like the last Kimono, the rest looks so plain...

Oh ya...we also went up another temple at Kyoto that has the famous love stones...I tried to walk lor...and almost went down the stairs at the other end.. quite entertaining to watch the others trying to walk from one end to the other while closing the eyes.

Day 4: Bullet train- Peace park- Mt Fuji- Oshinohakai Village

Lol...we ran to catch the bullet train, made our way to Peace park...climbing up the slope was totally worth it. The views are magnificent, especially the view that has the Mt Fuji. Went up Mt Fuji 5th station, damn cold lor wah lau...mailed a wooden block back home...still hafen receive it. Play with the snow~ Lol everybody had a memorable time there...definitely memorable!!! Next we went to the Oshinohakai Village which was practically deserted when we reached there since everyone went home early. Very ancient looking place with lotsa flies flying around. And the toilet was disgusting, can smell the stench from outside le!!!

Hotel stay at some Onsen hotel that has a great view of the lake. And we were made to wear the Yukata for dinner and group photo. Dun like this hotel...very eerie...

Day 5: Onsen- Shin Yokohama- Tokyo

Checking out of the onsen hotel and setting off to visit the Ramen Museum... didn't get to try any of the ramen there and the whole setting of the place strongly reminds me of old Chinatown wo... we also stopped by a food mall which totally appeals to my starving stomach!

After Ramen Museum we went to Asakusa Kannon Temple, the one with a lot of lanterns de. There also got a shopping street!!! And it was raining all day...super sian lor. My shopping trip was cut short! After that we went to the red light district. Can actually see lots of young men pulling in potential customers.

Photo shots @ Narita to Singapore

Unpacking the luggage

Introducing the luggage...which I had no choice but to wake my mom up in the middle of the night to help me carry them back home.

And all the items unloaded...lol

The Minnie's hat hair clip. I saw the Japanese ppl wearing it at Disneyland, it's so cute. So cannot resist...bought one for my cousin.

And not forgetting the Disneyland's cookies. The packaging is nice, and they taste nice as well. Yum!

Gift package for Joey's baby girl. What's inside? Well, kimonos for babies.

Four bags to add to my bag collection. Lol, I've ppl in the tour group asking me if I had bought another bag again.

Perfume from Gucci and a sunglasses. Perfume bought in Singapore at the Changi airport and the sunglasses from Aeon shopping mall in Japan.

Some Japanese goodies from Narita airport and powdered green tea. Very...heavy to carry around during shopping trip.

Bought 2 sets of fancl products. The salesgirl actually said that one person is only entitled to one each. But if we're buying for our friend, then we are allowed to buy more than 1. In that case, of course I would say that I'm buying for my 'many' friends lor!

Some very kawaii soft toys as my next week's teaching aides. Can you guess what theme I will be touching on?

Shoes and more shoes that I managed to find before heading to the Narita Airport. So heng arh!!!

4 sets of chopsticks with pretty images.

Cute Japanese girl doll.

Still haven't finish shopping yet!!! Will definitely go back to Japan again to continue my shopping spree!~

Advance Bday celebration at the Centre

Had my bday celebration yesterday at the Centre, and I must say that the cupcakes look really lovely!!! But I still can't figure out what happened to one of my boxes of cupcakes that I had placed aside on my counter...It went MISSING!!!

However, I was quite vexed with the delivery service provided by Bakerzin! I had ordered 3 different cakes from them, and had chosen the delivery time slot to be from 12- 3pm. They had arrived with TWO cakes at around 2.30pm and the third cake had only arrived around 5!!! And the delivery person had said that there should be cutting knives included, but they were not! Had sent a feedback regarding this matter, and hope that they can provide me with an explanation.

Anyway!! Here are some pics!!!

The Desire cake for the K2 class. Their teacher had snagged a dark chocolate rose and replaced it with a white chocolate rose on the cake before I even took a photo!!! Now, it doesn't look as pretty as it should had been...hmpf. But this was the cake that had made me go WOW when I opened the box. It just looked so lovely and it was really tasty.

Next, the cupcakes for my K1 class~ 24 standard sized cupcakes and 120 mini cupcakes to bring home to. And goodness wo, the parents thought that the minis were fake and could not be eaten. I can assure you that they were really tasty, not dry and not wet. And they are 100% edible. (Unlike the dough lollipop that I had done with the children last week.)

Some pics of my Darlings eating the cuppies~

The bring home minis that the parents thought that they were inedible.

And this Sweet Pleasure was the cake that I had ordered for the teacher along with the Chocolate Amer. How can I describe it? Had comments that it tasted great, sweet and that the chocolate smelt heavenly.

And, finally the cake that came late, the chocolate amer that my teachers had not tasted! And I had to bring it back to my place so as not to waste it. Will be cutting a portion and bringing it back to the centre later for the teachers who are on Saturday duties.
